GALAX. Four pillows that vibrate according to the pulse.
We find ourselves in 2040, where a  generation of little geniuses, genetically modified by a drug, rule the planet under enormous tension and stress. With the passing of the years and all the accumulated pressure, life expectancy decreases to 30 years of age, for which society is forced to carry out all kinds of relaxation activities to avoid extinction. In this city, there are hundreds of areas of rich nature, with surprising landscapes where you can breathe calm and carefree. This is where Galax appears, a place created in order to force you to stop, disconnect and relax. Through speculative design, we have proposed a utopian and fictitious future scenario, with various problems applicable to our present, but always looking to the future.

Reflecting on the impact of design on possible solutions to improve people's lives, we present Galax, a project based on the comfort and physical satisfaction of the person in situations of stress and pressure. This is made up of a set of 4 relaxation modules and a recommendation box which, through a pulse sensor, is capable of activating the vibration of the module corresponding to its degree of stress. Thanks to Galax, we can provide a certain deep relaxation, through different vibration patterns, which adapts to the person at all times. This speculative tangible interface thus explores a new form of relaxation with the aim of achieving a personalized experience.

Galax has turned out to be a very enriching process through which we have been presented with endless possibilities, until reaching the final one. Today, a high percentage of the population, both children and adults, live with constant excess stress. Thus, despite the fact that Galax is located in a distant and utopian future, it could also be applied to many current problems.
