Healthy creativity
I design, illustrate and copy edit for a big company with lots of community newspapers. Working on common content means all pages must adhere to a specific set of rules for presentation and design to be utilized across the chain or sold to clients.
Designing with lots of restrictions and few resources can be stressful, but it sure is fun.
Here are the rules of the game:
1. All stories must contain to the centerpiece package.
2. You can only utilize free stock art or whatever creative ability you posses.
3. You will only have access to InDesign and Photoshop (yes we know having Illustrator would make your job easier.)
Most of these examples were built using only InDesign CS5. If you would like to know how something was done do not hesitate to ask.
