dreamcatcher.
a day spent painting in the forest.
For my writing course "The Creative Spirit", we were asked to do a final creative project. At UCSC, you can find many works of art, forts, and random memorabilia students have left in the forest. I wanted to leave my mark in Santa Cruz, so for my final creative project I decided to do a painting in the forest.

I was interested in seeing how texture came to play when doing this painting. This experience was surprisingly relaxing and invigorating, being surrounded by nature and all. Overall, I spent about 3 hours on this project: exploring the forest, finding the perfect spot, and finishing the painting.

This painting was inspired by the sunsets here in Santa Cruz. I'm always amazed at the beauty just looking outside my dorm window at Porter College, which is why I decided to paint this inspired piece in the forests of Porter behind the meadow.
