“It is an act of bravery to allow your work to be completely dismantled and recreated as something else. Sometimes to the point the original material is barely recognisable anymore. But without that seed this new music could not exist. It is an act of dismantling the ego.”
The project started as a challenge to overlap two tracks, one from each artist. From trading stems, the project grew into something much bigger than originally intended. A visual component turned into a 42-minute journey pulling from the sum of its parts into a cohesively demented dream world, interlocking and at times playing against the audio component. ‘SinS’ is the first of three concept pieces currently lined up.
SINS is the product of our respective original compositions being stretched, twisted and manipulated over secondary tracks, resulting in phases of beautiful, growing harmony, logic-splitting chaos, and ever changing soundscapes where polyrhythms, discordance, and madness wrap themselves around your brain and doing let go.
