Celebrating their 29th Anniversary, SOGO in Hong Kong commissioned this image to reflect the shopping experience in the prestitious department store during their celebration week. The brief required that the image referenced the various departments and goods available throughout the store and feature typical shoppers, whilst being colourful, lively and festive.
Keeping the image within a fashion and lifestyle context, I designed the illustration to have a sense of energy, flow and movement, whilst various individual "stories" are told within the overall image.
The image is being used extensively on marketing and advertising and throughout the store, plus the original paper sculpture is framed and on display for the duration of the event.
On large TVs throughout the store, SOGO are screening a short film that records the process of making the paper image, from concept to completion...
The illustration artwork was supplied as a layered Photoshop file, enabling it to be broken into parts and adpted for use either as a whole or in part throughout the store and on all their advertising and marketing...
....it was used extensively throughout the store and a "show window" was created that featured both the original artwork and the film of it's making.
