The Essence of the Essence

Abstract images are said to be in my work, such as those in “Blue sky" and “The world that surrounds us" series. But I fact the images are not abstract but rather a search for the essence, not a photographic portrayal of the exterior. In that sense, here is a quote I read recently:

“The principle of true art is not to portray but to evoke. To register the essence, the feeling of something, its energy.”

Constantin Brancusi, the Romanian sculpture, once said: "They are imbeciles who call my work abstract. That which they call abstract is the most realistic, because what is real is not the exterior but the idea, the essence of things."

Therefore, I continued to analyze and edit those images in order to bring them back to their essence, to their idea and energy. After that, they were painted on paper.

We offer the works as photographic prints or as original paintings in limited editions.
