Rapid response to the shooting incident

Rapid response to the shooting incident at a public place

An individual who is actively engaged in using any violent means like firearms (most frequently used), bladed weapons, vehicles, or any tool that constitutes lethal physical force, to kill or attempt to kill people in a confined and populated area is known as an active shooter.
Most of the time, they choose their victims without any logical explanation. The majority of active shooter scenarios are unanticipated, evolve quickly, and end in minutes.
In case of an active shooter incident, preparation and rapid response is essential for ensuring that employers and employees have the right tools, know where to go, and know how to stay safe. As an emergency preparedness and response platform, we at A Life Saved offer guidance on how to prepare and train for emergencies, as well as warnings about potential dangers.

What is rapid response?

It means being equipped with the knowledge and decision-making strategies to help you save lives.
We teach you the skills of prevention, preparation, and response. The foundation of our preventative method is the early detection and intervention of those engaging in dubious behavior. Our safety training programs equip you with the skills necessary to recognize an act of Violence immediately, situate yourself in the area of potential risk, make tactical safety decisions based on logic, and act accordingly to protect both your own life and the lives of others. Some of our training programs include

Situational Awareness Presentation

This program covers the facts of violence at workplace, what to expect from first responders, and introduces our techniques for violence prevention, mitigation, and response.

PREVENTION

We understand that workplace violence is a possibility but not a probability.
We work with organizations to improve their anti-harassment policies and add a requirement for reporting affirmative actions. Employee identification and reporting of behavioral patterns that stray from the predefined baseline toward potentially violent behavior are part of this process.

PREPARATION
Time is a crucial component of our approach to getting ready and responding to active shooter. The victims are left alone during the brief period of time between the start of a workplace violence incident and the arrival of the first responders. People ought to have the freedom to choose actions that will increase their capacity for survival.

ORIENTATION

Time is of the essence, but if people are correctly oriented toward the event, safety decisions can be made. People may need a few seconds to several minutes to comprehend the information and become aware that a violent incident is taking place. The chance of survival is dependent on this timing. The sooner people become aware of what is going on, the faster they may decide what to do for their protection.

REACTION

We take a different approach to reactive strategies for violence at workplace and use the acronym ABC to describe our response campaign.
A - AVOID - It means to avoid the offender by making tactical judgments that will save your life rather than reacting in a panic.

B- BARRICADE- In place of the passive act of hiding, this suggests using a previously known secure area to barricade oneself in or immediately discovering one that can be secured.

C- CONFRONT - Unrestrained confrontation with improvised weapons as a last resort only if a potential victim has no means to resort to the tactics of Avoid or Barricade.

Table Top Exercises

The tabletop exercises get different segments of your business—from management and human resources to front-facing employees and facilities—to talk about their roles in a simulated event.
We use scripted scenarios based on true workplace violence incidents to train our clients.
