Beauty is the 2018–2020 catalogue of Osservatorio Mobile Nord Est (OMNE), an art residency located in the north-east of Italy. Damiano Fraccaro of OTIUM Studio was in charge of the design of the book and asked my support for the design of the logo.
The lettering needed to be based on Big Caslon Medium, one the font chosen for the titles inside the book.
Below a few of the initial sketches, working with an iPad in a digital environment gave me the flexibility to test out a bunch of different solutions fairly quickly.

The digitalization is a very careful process, especially with these kind of shapes that needs to retain fluidity and an harmonious feel, like they were written with a flexible nib with an uninterrupted movement.

In addition to the logo I was asked to create 8 monograms with the initials of the residency's attendees that were printed on the back of each of the participant's personal booklet.
