Miscel·lània
EL FESTIVAL DE LA DIVERSITAT DE CATALUNYA
Concept and visual brand identity
Briefing
Living in a context where social movements such as "Black lives matter" or "Stop Asian Hate" have gained presence and mobilised the whole world, Miscel·lània, the Diversity Festival of Catalonia arises with the need of joining this battle so as to stop a behaviour we condemn: racism

Often, racist attitudes emerge from the ignorance or lack of awareness, and that is why Miscel·lància borns as an space where to deconstruct those imaginaries and stereotypes and promote equality and respect between the diversity of cultures that coexist in the region of Catalonia. All through the co-inclusive reciprocal narrative, emphasizing the values that the diversity of cultures have in common, but also accepting the differences throughout a mutual recognition.
Concept
This cultural, musical and social project is developed under the following conceptual territory: the markets. All over the world and throughout history, markets have been a gathering and exchange spaces, becoming a social and sensory experience. That's why Miscel·lània will be formed by smaller areas with a wide variety of proposals: even though the concerts will be the heart of the festival, it will also hold other interdisciplinary activities and services that aim to go further and beyond, as a vital part of the cultural awareness: debates, talks, round tables, gastronomy or sports workshops, local business, etc. all of them from different cultures living in Catalonia.

Moreover, Miscel·lània is a multidirectional space, where the hegemonic culture can learn from the minority ones, but also the other way round, creating an exchange and convergence network between all of them that leads to an integration and acceptance of the alterity.
