December 2022 in the Palatinate Forest came with 2 weeks of cold temperatures and a little snow.
I used the weekend of the 4th Advent to hike to places before sunrise. It had -12°C. The funny thing under these conditions are the keeping warm issues for the batteries. The nice aspect of maybe the low temps was that I had both places all for myself.
