Edward Reicin's profile

The Great Vest Side Club of Chicago

The former managing partner of the law firm of Fordon, Reicin, West, and Rosenbloom, Edward Reicin also served as the president of MPC Containment International, which manufactures storage tanks for the military and other applications. An ardent opera enthusiast (and singer himself), he is the development chairman of the Central Region Metropolitan Opera Council. Also heavily involved in other community activities, Edward Reicin sits on the board of the Great Vest Side (GVS) Club of Chicago.
As its name suggests, GVS Chicago has its roots in the West Side of the city. The ‘vest’ is homage to the early Jewish immigrants in that part of town, who could not pronounce “west.” GVS primarily hosts semi-annual dinner events and a networking opportunity for members of over 500 original families in the area.
As a nonprofit, GVS Chicago depends on funds and gifts in-kind from well-wishers. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the organization has raised over $1 million, directed to institutions and causes such as the Illinois Holocaust Museum, juvenile diabetes, leukemia research, and the AFMDA (American Friends of Magen David Adom).
