Star Trek Universe Ultimate Chart

After almost 60 years of Star Trek,
I believe this phenomenon deserves a proper tribute!

I have searched extensively the internet for a complete chart of crews and ships,
and I haven’t found a single chart that was complete and up to date,
so I decided to make one myself based on my love for everything Trek.
Therefore I present to you the STAR TREK UNIVERSE project!

THE SHOWS

I have chosen to represent every Trek installment in the in-universe chronology, with some exceptions given by the intricate timelines created by time travel and paradoxes. I have not included The Animated Series, Lower Decks and Prodigy as they do not enter the scope of this endeavor, that is to represent only leading shows and real faces of actors that every fan of Trek has come to love. These installments sometimes are more than just the title given in the chart, in their original screen logos:

                       1. Enterprise
                       2. Strange New Worlds
                       3.  The Original Series
                       4.  The Original Films (The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, The                              Final Frontier, The Undiscovered Country)
                       5.  The Transitional Film (Generations)
                       6.  The Kelvin Films (Star Trek, Into Darkness, Beyond)
                       7.  The Next Generation
                       8.  The Next Gen Films (First Contact, Insurrection, Nemesis)
                       9.  Deep Space Nine
                       10. Voyager
                       11. Picard
                       12. Discovery
                       13. The Orville (that I consider an honorable tribute to Trek, along with Galaxy Quest)

THE CHARACTERS

This chart is based on extensive research on all the press releases of photos with the characters from every movies and series. Out of a database of hundreds of photos, I have curated the best images of the characters based on the following criteria:

                        1. High resolution and quality of the image, when available
                        2. Best representation of the character’s general attitude
                        3. Consistency with the general atmosphere of the movies or series
                        4. Consistency with the general lighting and colour palettes of the movies and series
                        5. Visible and accurate uniform within the timeline, as well as the evolution of the uniforms
                        6. Consistency in the poses and the backgrounds used for the same crew, when possible
                        7. Completeness of the roles of bridge officers, and some auxiliary essential roles
                        8. The evolution of the characters along different in-universe periods and in different shows

THE FUNCTIONS

Whenever it was proper, the title of every crew member has been aligned on columns that show recurrent functions within the Star Trek franchise. In order not to have gaps in the chart, I have combined some of the roles and simplified the title:
The captains and first officers were quite straightforward (as my subjective preference I have placed Lorca as the captain of the Discovery). The counselor column comprises also roles like nurse, advisor, hologram, or other essential members. The science officer sometimes doubled as the first officer. The doctors and engineers were also a clear choice. The helm officer generally also doubled as the operations (Ro Laren was chosen as an alternative as not to double Data, who also operated the helm console). Security could also be called Tactical or Weapons Control, depending on the era and the ship. Communications was not always a separate bridge role, but I have added characters who were essential in ship-wide or station-wide communication (or gossiping, in the case of Quark). I have considered Seven of Nine as a science officer (responsible with astrometrics and Borg technology) but eventually I have placed her in the role of communicator with the Borg hive-mind. The admirals were less popular and not always present in every episode, but they are highly influential in the decision of the crews. The auxiliary characters served on the flagships temporarily, helped the captains or played a major role in the development of some plots; here I could have added Q as he appears in The Next Gen, Voyager, DS9 and Picard, but he cannot be considered part of the crews

THE FLAGHIPS

I have chosen highly detailed dorsal renders of every major ship, excluding the NX refit (Utopia class) and the Enterprise-F refit (Yorktown class). All the ships are accurate models of the canon designs, and they are more or less represented in scale (as much as it did not affect the general design of the chart):

                        USS Enterprise NX-01, Experimental Class
                        USS Enterprise SNW, Constitution Class
                        USS Enterprise TOS, Constitution Class
                        USS Enterprise-A, Constitution Refit
                        USS Enterprise-B, Excelsior Class
                        USS Enterprise Kelvin, Constitution Class
                        USS Enterprise-D, Galaxy Class
                        USS Enterprise-E, Sovereign Class
                        USS Defiant, Defiant Class
                        USS Voyager, Intrepid Class
                        USS Enterprise-F, Odyssey Class
                        USS Discovery, Crossfield Class
                        USS The Orville, Light Cruiser

I give my thanks and credit to the brilliant artist known as Enethrin from Australia,
who created the SHIPS OF THE LINE collection of renders, without which this would not be the same.
