This is a handfull of album covers I have been working on in my free time for some friends and myself.
This is sort of where it began, the 1st proper cover I made. This was made for a Garage Rock album I was writing and going to put out but was never happy with, so instead I've decided to hang onto the art for until I think I record something of worth. The design itself is probably in its 4th or 5th reworking, being updated whenever I learn new things on Photoshop. There's no way I'd be able to reproduce the main picture as it's the result of many hours of editing on various programs.
This cover was made for a song I recorded with my friend, a fast burst of energy barely making 2 minutes in length. The name was the 1st one we jokingly came up with that stuck in my head. It can have two meanings depending on introduction; Aids (deadly virus) or The Aids (an aid being a humanitarian worker).
This is one of my current favourites, made for college friend and band member Dale Young for his first solo album that's currently in the works of writing and shortly recording. I got the idea immediately after waking up one day to find Dale had left a message about helping him do a solo album. The idea behind it was influenced by some details on his new guitar that has moon phases for fret marks and a mountain on the 12th fret. The colours was a random Idea that I ended up sticking with.
This is the back cover for the same EP. I simply reused parts from the front cover to make this psychedelic... thing. The song list is actually our college bands old set-list, I added this quickly because his girlfriend needed the complete design as she's doing a piece on him for her media course.
This album cover was made for another Friends Grunge band, 'Mary Do You Wanna' after he saw my MGMT poster competition entry. This idea came to me fairly quickly and they all liked it, however they sent me a small list of things they wanted changed (colours, to use random images instead of them and so on... ) and got kind of stuck. I tried applying their ideas on about 4 other covers but was never satisfied. Sadly, Mary Do You Wanna recently broke up before finishing their debut album however you can still see their 1st music video on youtube.
The band has decided to continue so check them out on spotify and youtube!
This is a kind of funny cover as the band I made it for (an old school friend/member of all my first bands and his college friends) don't actually know that I've made it. I was told by my band mate (Who is a big fan of theirs) that they are a "Mumford band" (folk music...) so I took the opportunity just to make something for a genre I don't particularly like to see if I can make art for different music styles and fit their visual representation.
This was a quick cover made for an EP I was going to release anonymously. I wanted something that could be easily printed and whipped up into some CD folders. Not much can be said about it.
Thank you for looking.

I'll make another installment when I have another handfull of covers.
