Digitizing Historical Duck Decoys

Photo Scanning Historical Waterfowl Decoys
For this project I undertook photoscanning two duck decoys from the Genesee Country Village and Museum's collection. Through the digitization process I hoped to capture the evolution of wooden decoys from functional tools to fine art.
This decoy is of unknown year and creator, but was used at one time as a functioning hunting decoy.
This decorative decoy depicts a hooded merganser duck and was hand crafted by Leo Macintosh in 1984.
Creation Process
Editing Images For Better Results
The images for this decoy were individually edited to equalize the exposures and reduce contrast. Both of these actions work together to help delight the images
The images for this decoy were uniformly edited to adjust the white balance and reduce contrast for improved texture accuracy and delight the object slightly.
