The DCMA is a global non-governmental organization established by banking and financial institutions to provide governance, standards, and a commercialization framework for the issuance, distribution, and monetization of digital currencies.

For our purposes, digital currency comprises both Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) issued by central banks and cash-backed digital assets (CBDAs) issued strictly to provide liquidity and interoperability across CBDCs.

The DCMA does not govern Stablecoins issued by private enterprises.

The DCMA collaborates with central banks, commercial and retail banks, and non-banking financial institutions to define the requirements for a safe, efficient, and accessible DCMS for both the retail and wholesale financial markets.

Based upon the DCMS requirements of our members, the DCMA deploys technology solutions capable of realizing the needs of our membership.
