Netflix's how to video customisation for Africa

Netflix's how to video customisation for Africa
Upon opening a regional office in Kenya in September 2021, Netflix approached SirNare Animation Studios to customise their generic video tutorial on how to set parental controls for a Kenyan and African market.
We were tasked to create relatable character designs and composite them into the video. This involved reverse engineering some of the shots by recreating the camera movements, character animations and transitions to make the new additions fit.

It was key to make the edit as close to the source material as possible but have a distinctive African look. I worked close and collaboratively with the team at Netflix Netherlands as well as direct the creative team at SirNare Animation Studios to bring this vision to life.

We also produced two voiceovers for the animation, a Swahili one and an English one.

It was a fun and challenging project and I was happy how it came out. below are some snippets of the animated shots.

We used clip studio paint and adobe photoshop for the character design and layout for animation, Adobe after effects for motion graphics and text animation, adobe premiere for editing and lastly, Moho for 2D animation.
