The Wise Old Owl

Childrens Interactive, Sensory Park - Based on the poem "The Wise Old Owl' by  John D. Rockefeller
The Entrance - Sensory Elements:
Sight - Strong visual impact when entering the space along the spine of a book through a spiral of text. The 2D trees, which are cut out from the pages of the book, hold the title of the poem.

Sound - Interactive audio words, the steps create piano sounds once stepped on. Rustling noises when walking through the spiral of text.

Smell - Forest smells, such as leaves, earthy soil and wood.

Touch - Natuarl, smooth, finished wood. Engraved words in the spiral to press.
The exit - The Type acts as a gate where visitors can walk through the owl.

Sensory Elements:
Sight - Gateway which has been created purely out of text. The text comprises of the last line of the poem and so completes the story. The gate is also held together by a 2D owl.

Sound - Audio leaving message - “Thank you for visiting ‘The wise old owl’, we do hope you return to visit him again!”

Touch - Smooth, heavy metal gate to open to leave the space.

The words of the poem are lifesize around the park, with key words having sensory elements such as audio, imagrey and textures connected to the poem.
The word old has a cracked texture to touch
The Word spoke is made up of owl's beaks.
