Kereta Semar Lembu by Zaky Yamani, an amazing book filled with so many twist and turns but grounded by an emotional storyline. A very quick turnaround time but one that instantly clicked for me. I wanted something magical but still serene as the story is grounded by something very human; Duality. The duality of childhood and adulthood, womanhood and motherhood, life and death, etc.
I adore how the novel can juggle those topic with levity and yet never comedic. A masterwork of a storyteller and a joy to paint for.
