Nuno Mota's profile

Bombarda'14 Competition

The afirmation of the Cultural Quarter Miguel Bombarda derives from the concentration in the homonymous street of a number of up growing art galleries, which have given this artery a very curious dynamic and turned it into an important meeting point for artists and collectors or simple art seekers in general .The existing cultural offering there, and the potential that this entails in terms of tourism did the rest: the living dynamics at Miguel Bombarda street has spread itself and the place became cosmopolitan, also benefited from the growing international profile of the city of Porto and the reference as an important city to visit. Still, all born in a narrow street, with old buiding, characteristic of the city, helped to perpetuate the "invicta" image of Porto but on the other hand, and more than any other artery in the city, very open to contemporaneity. Proposals for posters that are presented, using the design characteristics of signposts - affirming the concept of street, artery , place of passage and meeting point - on the one hand reaffirm the identity of the site, on the other give it cosmopolitanism throw signposts that are easily recognized from cities like New York, London, Berlin, Rome or Paris. Also because Miguel Bombarda has long ceased to be just a simple street in the city of Porto: it is physically, but it is also emotionally for New Yorkers, Parisians or all who enjoy it .
