Losas: Jibara, 2022
This project amalgamates losas criollas (hydraulic tiles found in El Veijo San Juan, Puerto Rico) with the portrait of a campesina farm worker raising the flag of Puerto Rico in the air. Here multiple distressed layers of tiles reveal the figure of la Jibara which in the animated reel is rearranged to solve like a puzzle.
