For the extensive AMG E-Class campaign, covering all models of the series, Alex Rank roamed downtown LA at night to capture static street views. Our Berlin studio then rendered all the vehicles in CGI and integrated them into the backplates.
A fun challenge was to add motion blur to the scenes but in a less conventional way. Instead of softening the focus along the vanishing lines, the idea was to emulate handheld camera pan shots, resulting in more organic, uneven blurs on the cars and background.
Our post team worked closely with the photographer in shifting the initial warm evening feel to a colder, more graphic look with dark blue and purple skies that got paired with bright, virtual front strobe lighting. The images are being used on the Mercedes AMG pages.
