The Fiesta Bowl Aerospace Challenge remains one of Arizona’s premier academic contests for youth. Entering its 15th year, this stimulating contest allows hundreds of fifth through eighth grade students the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of space technology. Participants develop plans for an International Lunar Base complete with a physical scale model. The winning team will earn an all expense paid VIP trip and a special on-field appearance at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
For this event I provided creative direction and illustrations for various items. I collaborated a good amount with my intern Hanna Melara and she helped shape the identity as well. The main focus was to relate everything to a futuristic but simple look and feel. The color palette, icons and team listings evoke a sense of moon colony.
All puzzles and games were created by Hanna and I with the intention of being engaging for the demographic. Shirts pulled from the cover illustration in order to have bold visual impact and be something that the kids are proud to wear.
