This is a small project I worked on for a brand called ‘Zatoon wa Lamoon’ which is Arabic for ‘ Olives and Lemons’. My task was to design an eye-grabbing label for a jar of olives and lemons. I had so much fun working on this project as it made me think of so many graphical treatments for lemons and olives. I also had to play around with text and colors to create a unique ‘vibe’ for the brand. I really liked the output and I hope you do too!
If you’ve seen my other projects, you probably already know that I always do hand-sketches before I start designing. I usually do my sketches in my Canson sketchbook, but for this project, I mostly did my sketches digitally using my Wacom tablet. Sketching is always my favorite part of any project! For this project, I started by sketching random olives and lemons to get a better feeling of their characteristics.
I then tried out some patterns to experiment how the different illustrated components can be used. I also love writing down notes for myself to remember changes I might work on or to point out which sketches I like.
This is the final step before I actually start designing the final label. Here you’ll see my ideas/trials for the brand logo and the jar label.
