'Tattooed Portraits' is a collaborative work with the photographer Gurbir Grewal and myself. The concept was to combine traditional portrait photography with the art of tattoos, and explore the idea contrasts by taking your average person and covering them in tattoos. It attempts to get the viewer to reflect on impressions and judgements they make based purely on appearance.

The portraits were taken by Gurbir Grewal with a Nikon D700. Then overlaying them with tracing paper, tattoos were hand drawn to fit on the person, accounting for the curvature of the skin. All the tattoos were done in pen and finally cleaned in Photoshop before final printing to display in a gallery exhibit.
None of them are real tattoos.
