Takahē In Trouble

Takahē In Trouble is a card game themed around the threats the Takahē face in the wild. It is targeted at children ages 8+ or 8–12 years. Included in the game, I designed a full set of cards, (60 point cards, 15 instant cards, and 27 disaster cards), 4 journey boards, 4 player tokens, an instruction manual and a full box design. The cards are the main touch point with the disaster cards providing the information on the main threats that the Takahē face, with red being predatory/the more dangerous threats, and grey being natural/less direct danger. On the back of these cards are facts to back up why I chose these to be the disasters. With the main deck, each card 1–9 has a form or action that helps the Takahē survive. With the highest numbers being the most desirable, 7,8,9 are captive rearing, stoat trapping, and deer culling. These are the 3 main things that people are doing in the Takahē Recovery Program to make sure that the Takahē are never again considered extinct.
