Joss Paper Swag

Joss Paper Swag is a take on the traditional Joss Papers. Ever since I burned Joss Paper as a child, I have watched the basic gold papers change into these paper mache objects. From cell phones, televisions, and even pets; I found this to be fascinating.

Joss paper were burned by the chinese to send money to their loved ones. Mainly is was a way to help the living grief over the lost of the loved ones. It was the only way for us to communicate with them and making sure that they are okay.

Joss Paper Swag is a new take on the traditional and modern ritual to send gifts and money to our loved ones that have passed away. A more simpler approach to the large sculptures, and even a commentary on what is now considered important in society.
