Luxury Ming is a fusion between western and oriental culture: Seventeenth century European taste is transposed onto the traditional “chopsticks” for oriental foods, to give life to baroque style tableware/chopsticks. Chopsticks, usually made of wood, take on a less artisan-like and more industrial identity, which was an exquisitely western trait until just a few decades ago. Paradoxically, industrialisation and the market are now moving east, creating a cultural and mental exchange between two diverse worlds. Luxury Ming is born of these reflections, namely the fusion of two emblematic elements of counter posed cultures, European baroque decor and oriental functional minimalism.
