Scientific illustration of a new species discovered in the Amazon basin of Peru and Ecuador: Pythonides jenmorrisae n. sp.
The project's main challenge was the fact that this is a new species of skipper that we have very little information about so the only material to work from were 2 images of the butterfly taken in the laboratory.
The TNC Magazine requested the butterfly's ventral view, showing its inner colours, abdomen and legs.
