PROBLEM

여러분은 모두 플러그를 꽂는 과정에서 불편함을 느낀 경험이 있을 겁니다. 이 불편함은 국내에서 사용하는 220V 콘센트에 초과 전류를 대응하기 위해 접지 회로가 필수적으로 들어가고, 이로 인해 콘센트가 45º 기울어진 구멍을 갖게 되면서 벌어진 일들입니다.

이미 규격화된 내부 회로를 변경하여 제작하는 것은 단가에 치명적인 영향을 미치기 때문에 내부 회로는 그대로 두는 방향으로 해결책을 모색해야 합니다.

I'm sure you've experienced some inconvenience in plugging in. This inconvenience was caused by the fact that a grounding circuit was essential for domestic 220V outlets to accommodate excess current, which resulted in the outlet having a 45º tilt hole.
Changing and manufacturing an already standardized internal circuit will have a fatal impact on the unit price, so we need to find a solution to keep the internal circuit intact.

SOLUTION

소켓 구멍을 레일 형식으로 깎아 플러그를 어느 방향으로 꽂아도 쉽게 들어가는 방식을 제안합니다. 레일은 최단 낙하 거리를 나타내는 사이클로이드 곡선의 커브로 이루어져 있습니다. 또한 사용자의 플러그를 꽂는 힘을 보조하기 위해 소켓 바닥에는 스톱 버튼을 추가합니다.

We propose a method of shaving socket holes into a rail shape and inserting plugs in any direction easily. The rails are made of curves in the cycloid curve that show the shortest drop distance. Additionally, a stop button is added to the bottom of the socket to assist the user with plugging in.

사람이 가장 플러그를 보지 않고 꽂는 공간은 어디일까요? 아마 작업공간이 아닐까 싶습니다. 작업공간은 특히 많은 양의 소켓을 필요로 하며, 6구, 8구... 점점 커지는 멀티탭은 공간을 더럽고 좁게 만듭니다. 이를 해결하기 위해 사이클로이드 곡선을 활용한 세워 사용하는 멀티탭, TOWER를 소개합니다.

Where is the space where people plug in the most without looking at the plug? I think it's probably a work space. The work space requires a lot of sockets especially, and 6 or 8 sockets... The growing Power-strip makes the space dirty and narrow. To solve this problem, we will introduce TOWER, a Power-strip that utilizes the cycloid curve.
