I love drawing. There was never a doubt in my mind
about want I wanted to do when I grew up.
I would tell stories with my drawing.
After a fantastic time developing my drawing and storytelling skills at the Columbus College of Art and Design and subsequently at Art Center in Pasadena, I returned to the land of classical beauty and joined the army. Military service is mandatory here in Greece, and I came out of that with a lot of great reference material! I started working as a freelance illustrator and animator in late 1999.
My illustration work ranges from educational and children's books, to magazine editorials and comics, for clients in Europe and the United States. I have extensive experience as an animator, concept designer and storyboard artist for television commercials, animation and live action film. For the last decade or so, I've been creating special effects, motion graphics and video art for a wide range of live events, like concerts and theater.
In 2011 I completed a personal 3D animated short titled "dawn" (Dawn on IMDB). It was selected for screening by various festivals around the world, and won four awards, including the Atlantis award for best international short at the 2011 Moondance International Film Festival, and the award of excellence at the 2011 Los Angeles Movie Awards. In 2015, I joined the faculty at AKMI Vocational Training Institute, in Athens. I teach the animation students drawing, storyboard design, basics of screenwriting and directing, and the principles of animation.
I love my work, and I've enjoyed the wide variety of projects that I've been a part of. The thing is, though, I want to get back to what it was that got me into the visual arts in the beginning. Telling stories with my drawing. And to me, that means comics. I want to draw comics.
