Zero-Waste Silk Gown

Final product, made of hand-dyed silk chiffon and charmeuse. The entire thing created only a small handful of wasted fabric.
Draping process, drawing heavily from origami and other paper folding techniques to create structure and movement in the fabric.
Final muslin (toile)
Corseting process, involving layers of duck fabric, interfacing, and the silk, as well as some of the boning which was put in. The entire bodice was lined for the finished product.
Creating the final product in chiffon instead of a more structured material like the muslin gave the gown a different effect, creating layers of color and depth. It also changed the structured appearance of the original design, becoming more fluid.
