ikat

Fabric made using an Indonesian decorative technique in which warp or weft threads, or both, are tie-dyed before weaving.
The above is my take on the beautiful traditional ikat pattern. I used the motifs of Indian auto rickshaws and traffic signals, for a more contemporary twist, with a bright CYMK colour scheme.
This was my first attempt at designing a pattern, as an illustrator, and it was successfully printed for Indian brand Chumbak on a range of women's wallets, as well as iPad + iPad Mini cases and Phone Covers.
