Proton began in 2014 with the release of Proton Mail, now the world's largest encrypted email service. To meet the needs of our community, we've since added more privacy-focused services, starting with Proton VPN, then Proton Calendar, and most recently, Proton Drive.

Over time, these individual privacy services became the building blocks of a unified privacy ecosystem — and Proton Mail became Proton. This evolution required us to develop a new, unified visual language for the Proton universe.
