Super Brick Bros 2 Cinematic Trailer

In the grand tradition of video game trailers that look nothing like the actual game, I present to you the Super Brick Bros 2: A Machine for Bricks TURBO! Cinematic Trailer! It's a ridiculous promo for a ridiculous game.

The bricks were modelled and rendered in Blender with GLSL. Originally, I was going to use Cycles. However, each frame was taking approximately 3 minutes, which isn’t bad. Even so, at 24 frames per second, every 3 seconds of animation was taking 5-6 hours. Twenty-seven seconds of animation was a work-week's worth of rendering. I wanted to get it done faster. GLSL could render each frame in about a second or less. So I reworked the shaders for GLSL and I was able to render everything in minutes. Sure, Cycles looked better, but not a weeks worth of rendering better.

The 3d title text was created with Element 3d. Processing and color grading was done in After Effects and the final editing done in Premiere. The music was created with Propellerhead Reason and edited with Adobe Audition CC.
