All printed circuit board types as well as models will usually carry the required safety certification, making them used safely in a variety of applications. The certification will usually come with the required coverage of electrical and electronic component safety requirements of these PCBs to use them safely in all environments as well as in a variety of electronic appliances and devices.

When it comes to the design of a printed circuit board, it is usually made  by hand by making a photo cover on a plain Mylar sheet. The size of the sheet will usually be two or four times the size of the board.

 While making a circuit board, the manufacturers will lay out its design on the Mylar sheet. They will generally start from the schematic drawing of the part pin pads. They will then create tracks and connect them to the pads. They will use rub-on dry transfers of regular component trails to increase the efficiency of the PCB.

In PCB manufacturing, the tracks of the electronic circuit boards are made with self-adhesive tape. Pre-written unique grids on the Mylar sheet will assist in the design of the printed circuit board. The completed photomask will be reproduced photolithographically onto a photoresist covering on the blank copper-dressed boards.

Modern printed circuit boards are designed with dedicated design software, usually following the three steps mentioned below.
1. Manufacturers will use an electronic design computerization tool to capture the diagram.
2. They will then decide the dimensions of the printed circuit board as well as the template according to the PCB's circuitry and enclosure requirements.
3. Before the PCB printing process, the manufacturers determine the positions of the heat links as well as the position of the electrical and electronic components of the board. They will then decide the layer stack of the electronic circuit board, which may range from one to 10 layers, consistent with the complexity.
