Bram Stoker's Dracula - Animated Short Film

Back in September of last year, I took on the task to adapt the first chapters of the popular horror story "Dracula" written by Bram Stoker. Having made an animated short film before, I once again, did the project on my own, having to oversee and solve all problems and tasks that would occur on the way to completion. I made this short video, to show how I prepared for the project and what inspired and ultimately set the tone and look of the film.
The two posters I made for the movie. First rendered in Blender and then finished in Photoshop. Where filters and color correction really made it work.
A closer look at Dracula and his surroundings, all with a grid overlay filter, making it easier to see the 3D foundation and construction of each asset.
A look at the main character of the movie. Made with a very limited amount of polygons, to keep a smooth and easy workflow, throughout the process. Too many polygons in a character can really slow down your system, and because I'm working on an old MacBook, I had to minimize as much as possible.
The final thumbnail I made for YouTube. The movie ended up having over 80.000 views, which was way more than I could have ever imagined.
Without a doubt, the single most important piece of artwork I found on ArtStation. This image spoke to me, and ignited this burning will and desire to create my version of Dracula. I studied this piece of art and started to design my characters and enviroments around it.
The same artist from before, had also made this piece, which heavily inspired the three brides, who makes an appearance in my movie. They were actually the most difficult characters to design and make work. They are beautiful, with long hair and soft silky dresses, which in 3D, can be very difficult to make work.
