-New European Bauhaus
In an industrial world were the factories producing our consumer goods are created far away from our doorstep, we have lost connection with the holistic impact of the processes that sustain us. How can we make the process of creation more visible and stimulate a greater awareness?

This project brings to light what so often is hidden in materials we interact with on a day to day basis: process. By using microstructures, we invite the viewer to look closer, examine, and interact with the objects.
▪ Glasses
Process / 3D modeling, 3D printing, CNC Laser cutting
Materials / Agar-agar bioplastic dyed with red food colouring, 3D printing filament made from PLA coloured with micro algae filament
The glasses are created using PLA pigment coloured with microalgae pigments. Let the microtexture of the lenses results from the uneven drying of algae-based polymer catch your eye and bring you closer
▪ Vase
Process / CNC Laser cutting
Materials / Keraflex
The vase is made from clay, which ultimately is extracted from the earth. The same clay from which flowers extract water to be able to reach towards the sun. The vase shows the process of extraction, showing the structures used by the flower to extract water from the ground.
▪ Stool
Process / CNC milling, Heat gun melting, heat molding
Materials / OIKO
The stool is created from OIKO, a circular material made from recycled panels. While the colour aesthetics clearly communicate its mixed and chaotic material sourcing, the process of creation is hidden. Our stool highlights the melting process used. We demonstrate the beauty of the process itself and the chaotic aesthetics of artisan melting processes.
▪ Bag
Process / CNC Laser cutting, sewing
Materials / Pinatex
The bag is made from Pinatex, a material derived from fibres from pineapple leaves. We show the source of the material, something that is generally opaque and not well communicated (often deliberately so) in many consumer products. The pattern on the side of the bag is an abstraction of the geometry of pineapple skins.
