Certidão was the Brazilian samba group Casuarina’s second album. For the first time they were presenting themselves as authors, so the visual identity had to feel authentic and unique.
 
The music was incredibly rich. The arrangements were vibrant, filled with color, texture and sentiment. Every single space was rightly filled by flowery melodies and voluptuous Brazilian rhythms. The artwork had to reflect that vivid energy.
 
Following Casuarina’s previous album identity, this one also alluded to the Rio de Janeiro’s traditional architecture, as well as the malandro - a classic bohemian character rooted in Rio’s culture. But, this time, a layer of color and handicraft was added to them, completely aligning the aesthetics of the artwork and the music.
 
Certidão’s artwork was exhibited at the Arts in Laranjeiras and Cosme Velho Festival at the Casarão Austregésilo de Athayde Cultural Center.
