A criação do videoclipe da música "Power of Love", do DVRKO (L3V3L Music), foi um processo incrível que surgiu a partir de uma parceria que fizemos com o estúdio LimeLight Animation.
O clipe foi lançado em 2020 e levou 3 meses para ficar pronto. A ideia da história era mostrar o poder do amor em um universo fora do comum.
The making of “Power of Love” (song by DVRKO, L3V3L Music) music video was an amazing process. The project was a partnership we formed with LimeLight Animation Studio.
The music video was released in 2020 and took 3 months until the final animation. The idea was to show the power of love in a strange universe.
Tivemos carta-branca para a criação da história e dos personagens. Como ponto de partida, utilizamos a música em si e elementos do universo do DJ DVRKO, como o seu carro DeLorean. Além disso, nos inspiramos nas animações do jogo Cuphead para criar os personagens.
Nas imagens abaixo, mostramos um pouco do processo inicial, os esboços no papel e a finalização das Concept Arts no Photoshop.
We had freedom hand to come up with the story and the characters. As a starting point, we used the song itself aswell as some elements of the DJ’s universe, like the DeLorean car. We also took inspiration from the animations in Cuphead to create the characters.
In the pictures below, we showed a bit of the initial process, the sketches in paper and the finishing process of the Concept Arts on Photoshop.
Com o estilo do filme definido, partimos para a criação do storyboard.
Uma particularidade desse projeto é que o clipe foi criado e aprovado a partir do próprio storyboard.
Once we defined the style of the music video, we moved on to the Storyboard.
One peculiarity of this project is that the music video was created and approved right in the Storyboard.
Etapa de Key Frames, onde as principais poses e movimentações dos personagens são desenhadas e definidas nas cenas.
Keyframe step, when the main poses and character movements were drawn and determined in the scenes.
Uma equipe de 4 pessoas produziu a animação do início ao fim, utilizando a técnica frame a frame.
O processo de criação foi um desafio, já que foi a primeira vez que produzimos com uma equipe desse porte.
No gif abaixo, mostramos um pouco do processo de criação de uma das cenas, dos sketches até a animação final.
A team of four people produced the animation from start to finish, using the frame by frame technique.
The process of making was a challenge, since it was the first time we produced with a team of this size.
On the gif below, we showed a bit of the creation process of one of the scenes, from the sketches to the final animation.
