PARADISE, 2022 - Paradise Lakes Campground in Wharton State Forest, NJ
PARADISE was the recipient of an art grant at BFX, Beardfest's ten year anniversary arts and music festival in the NJ Pine Barrens. Mounted eight feet in the air, it served as camp frontage, a landmark for passersby, illumination, and lame pun. It was the third in a series of pieces made from the same recycled materials.
The piece was more than 8' long, suspended between two trees on black paracord. The piece was powered from AC voltage provided by Paradise Lakes Campground.
Construction took two weeks. There were nearly a thousand individual LEDs, with the finished piece programmed to gently pulse.
The piece was immediately dismantled after the event for future recycling and reuse of materials.
