I've really been inspired by some composite shots on Instagram lately, specifically @ilovecereal; she's got some really great pieces and so when I got home tonight I decided to give it a go.

The final image is an amalgamation of about 25 different layers in photoshop. I started with a base plate (the sunset, clouds, and lower grass landscape). Then I added in one of my star photography shots that I took while I was in a dark spot in Georgia, and merged in a photo of the moon. Of course, all the masks and adjustment layers are where the magic happen.

Anyway, it's a fantasy composite piece. Hope it takes you places.
