Wroclaw in the old times and today

Personal project about my home city - Wroclaw. Wroclaw some 70 years ago was called Breslau and was german. After siege in 1945 city was severely destroyed, many buildings and streets vanished. I wanted to shoot photos in the same places where old photographers took their photos. Then I placed old photo on my version and started to reveal old buildings and people in present day surroundings. Whole project is about 230 places at this moment, with planned circa 400-500 total. All work is published on Facebook page: http://fb.com/wroclawdawniej. It has more than 2400 fans at the moment.

Old photos were taken from http://dolny-slask.org.pl - great collection of old photos and maps of Lower Silesia region in Poland, administered by Wratislaviae Amici association.

Project was featured in press: TUWroclaw.com, Gazeta Wrocławska & TVN24.
