Hand made costumes can be tricky for an aerialist performer to move around in as well as pose a hazard if any of its details should obstruct the performer. Therefore these costumes are digitally illustrated and printed onto a stretchy flat material giving the performer full flexibility and no extra material that could endanger them.
My goal as the project illustrator was to preserve as much beauty and realism as I could in the costumes detail so that it would be just as engaging and eye catching as the performers on the ground.
