Since I’ve got a degree in fine arts I was greatly inspired by classical art. The deeper you go into art history the more you acknowledge that European arts and culture have deep roots in antiquity. So every time you want to reach out to something authentic and essential returning to ancient pieces is always a good move. Last year I was scrolling through my feed as usual and a beautiful photo of an antique sculpture caught my eye. That was a bust of a roman patrician with a very significant profile. So I grabbed my sketchbook and markers and made a sketch. Mixing a fresh vibrant palette with an antique subject resulted in a series of portraits in a quite pop-art-like style.
