The Lowland is a novel about two brothers, torn by the revolution in India. Inseparable in their youth, with tremendously different futures planned for them.
When Carol Carson approached me about doing the lettering for this jacket, she mentioned that we were going to rely solely on lettering to tell this story. Heavy, strong, warm colored brush strokes made sense for this dense, dark novel that unveils a family tragedy.
