Many International Agencies concluded that the global climate had undergone significant changes in the 20th century. These changes included an increase in global surface temperature by 0.45 to 0.60 degree centigrade.

 

 

 

These increases have been greater than at any time in the past 1000 years. Changes in atmospheric temperature are supported by new analyses that the heat content of oceans has significantly increased since 1950s. Increases in land surface temperatures have been positively correlated with decreasing snow cover and land ice. Sea level changes have also occurred. These have been on the order of 10 to 20 cm above levels in early 20th century.
