La Sonatine à Cinq Voix means Sonatine with 5 voices. The format used is a brass quintet with the structure of introduction, exposition, middle section, recapitulation, and coda. The 5 voices in this work refers to the middle section, more precisely to the independent episode section. In the sonata or sonatine format, generally in this section the composer has the right to apply anything to his work. I, myself, as a composer chose to fill my composition with Javanese Pentatonic scale, transposed to a minor scale, with a 5/4 time signature.
