Astana Pandita - Self Sustain Office Tower

 

Menara Astana Pandita UKM uniquely integrates new technology with passive design on a traditional Malay house. Passive and active design is emphasized through the design process to achieve an environmentally friendly design. Environmentally friendly design is applied in the design of this tower to ensure the daily life of the community in the future. At the same time, design that responds to the climate is also emphasized in addition to giving new breath in maintaining identity architecture in Malaysia.

Due to sudden climate change and also the urban heat island problem, environmentally friendly design is very important to reduce pollution. The design of the 'Astana Pandita Tower' is an iconic tower in leading renewable energy technology to reduce the rate of global warming.

 

Active strategies are used to support passive strategies in achieving the goals of this tower. The uniqueness of this tower's design is the solar panel with a traditional batik motif on the facade of the building which also functions as shade in addition to generating electricity.

 

This Zero Energy Tower is designed by maximizing the advantages of the view and also the natural lighting of the site area. The tower also displays a view of the lake on the southeast side, a green area on the southwest and also a 360-degree view of Sungai Langat and Bandar Baru Bangi on the southwest.
