ESDESIGN is design
ESDESIGN was the first school in Barcelona to offer 100% online and quality design training. For this reason, every year more than 1,000 students from more than 50 countries around the world join the school. Its mission is that these students become agents of change in the world of design. With this idea in mind, we created the school's new corporate identity.
The challenge was to create a brand that spoke of design for designers and that was capable of transmitting a familiar image, where the graphic elements of the brand would become a vehicle for its value proposition.
To create the new branding system, we started from the basis of the school's name itself and the behavior of digital interfaces through scrolling.
Thus, the "ES" in the name (which comes from "Escuela Superior") becomes the verb that introduces everything the school brings to its students. And the "DESIGN" becomes a flexible part of the brand. In the logo, "DESIGN" is placed above "ES" to convey movement. And in the communication pieces, this part of the name is substituted by attributes and concepts related to the school: communication, knowledge, color, Barcelona, innovation, transformation, etc.
As the main color we chose a vibrant orange, to transmit freedom, stimulate and relate the school directly to creativity and diversity.
Every piece of illustration and motion design was combined with 3D geometric shapes and dynamic typographic compositions which were all created by us to be able to deliver and communicate the complexity of all the school fields.
In conclusion, we created ESDESIGN's new logo, its typography, its brand architecture, designed its new website and created templates for its social networks and offline media. In this way, the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Barcelona not only got a new brand identity, but also its own way to communicate.
