About the exhibition
Through the stories of her own grandparents and surviving family objects, Katharina Roters confronts us with the
conflicts and intertwining of the individual and 20th century history. Together with her co-author József Szolnoki,
they discover, document and explore the past and present emergence of political symbols of the 1950s and the Kádár regime,
as well as attempts to cover up these symbols.

Katharina Roters saját nagyszüleinek történetén és fennmaradt családi tárgyakon keresztül szembesít minket az egyén
és a 20. századi történelem konfliktusaival, összefonódásával. Alkotótársával, Szolnoki Józseffel az ötvenes évek
és a Kádár-rendszer politikai szimbólumainak egykori és mai felbukkanását, illetve ezen szimbólumok elfedésének kísérleteit fedezik fel, dokumentálják és tárják fel.
